1. Timber Quality, Thermal Modification & Grain Alignment
During our longitudinal evaluation of the SaunaLife Ergo-Series Model E6W, the timber demonstrated exceptional dimensional stability. SaunaLife uses European thermo-treated wood—heated to over 200°C without chemicals to permanently alter the hemicellulose and lignin cellular structures.
This modification eliminates resin weeping, reduces equilibrium moisture absorption by up to 50%, and drastically lowers thermal conductivity so benches never scald sensitive skin even in a 95°C hot room.
2. Air Stratification, Venting & Löyly Steam Quality
The SaunaLife Ergo-Series Model E6W incorporates dedicated passive low-level air intake channels paired with high-wall or under-bench exhaust ports. When steam was introduced over 40 lbs of olivine diabase stones, the convective current swept across the ceiling and descended evenly over bathers.
We recorded temperature differentials of approximately 18°C between the upper bench level and the floor duckboards, consistent with proper Finnish convection thermodynamics.
3. Assembly Tolerance & Installation Realities
We timed two experienced builders assembling the modular structure. Panel joints locked with minimal mallet force, and glass hinge alignments required only standard Allen key adjustments. Ensure you have dedicated 240V power ready prior to delivery day.
